Sunnah Rasulullah : Food/Eat

Hey there! Assalamualaikum and a very good day, mates!

Anyway, I was just thinking...umm, yes.. I do think, for the sake eh? So, as what we observe in our life.. People consume such thing. Yes, we eat to live but not living to eat then you shall have no life. Umm. Yeah. I think I talk crap.

Back to the topic, eating is a priority to each and every earthlings! But remember dear muslims! Eat those halal food, if you find the food shubhah, better leave it then! What you eat affect your manners. What you consume affect your thoughts. What you take affect your ibadah. Then, be sure to choose healthy food. Let the food be halal toyyiban.

Speaking of good food, we can always refer to the sunnah. The way prophet Muhammad ate his meal from the start until he ends his meal with alhamdulillah, praises to Allah. The food he would prefer and even the proper way to behave with food!

I don't know much but these might help us to practise the sunnah :
- wash our hands before and after we eat
- begins the meal with bismillah, with the name of Allah and ends it with alhamdulillah, praises to Allah.
- eat using our right hand
- eat using three fingers (the thumb, index and middle fingers!) or at least we can eat like that for the first three bite ( what do we call it? Not exactly 'bite' i'm sure :/ )
- Take the food nearer to us first!
- Be sure to leave no traces of leftover! Okay, just don't waste your food! There's a hadith saying that those person who waste their food are friends to the satans. Creepy, don't you think so?
- Rasulullah loves to eat something sweet and cold! Ice-cream can be listed in that isn't it?
- Rasulullah loves the food i-don't-remember-what-they-call-it but it is sort of like beef chunks, bread and sauces.
- Rasulullah loves tamar. Uhm, the type of a particular dried fruit.

Those are some that I remembered. Better to search for some more!

  3. Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure but cold and sweet can also be fruit juice, etc. I was just suggesting ice cream. Furthermore, I was just referring to hadith which just stated how Rasulullah loves something cold and sweet . No exact food stated. Sorry for the late reply.
